The programme is always a major part of a Unicon, particularly a participative programme with many events that everyone can join in on. Last year's Unicon (Wincon V) had various quizzes, a cake competition and a great atmosphere in the bar (with several real ales on tap), and we intend to continue this forward with our own unique slant on things. One area we want to cover in new ways is children's literature, and obviously we'll be looking at areas of relevance to our main guest, but with a committee with as many interests as we do, you can be sure that there'll be something for everyone and a few surprises!
On Friday night we have the opening ceremony at 7pm, a panel on fantasy and a drinks reception to celebrate the launch of Juliet E McKenna's latest book. Panels start at 10.30am on Saturday and the closing ceremony is on Sunday at 5pm. Philip Pullman will join us on Saturday for an interview and book signing and on Sunday for a reading from The Amber Spyglass.
